Wolves successfully appeal to FA to lift substitute midfielder Nunes' three-match ban

Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) have appealed the three-match ban for substitute midfielder Matthews Nunes, 24, in the last round of the Premier League . Through an appeal, Nunes' ban from participating in the next three Premier League games was lifted.

Nunes, who was on the bench in Wolves' 2-4 home defeat to Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday, was dissatisfied with the referee's decision that Leeds United's 32-year-old substitute striker Rodrigo Moreno Machado had scored. The 4th goal was invalid, so he protested to the line referee, but after the argument was fruitless, he became emotional and complained to the line referee. Finally, the referee showed a red card to the player who did not play.

Nunes not only received a red card when he did not play, but also will not be able to participate in Wolves' next Premier League matches against Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Brentford.

After the game, coach Julen Lopetegui confirmed that he would appeal the decision, saying it was inexplicable that Nunes was sent off by the referee without any violence.

The result of today's appeal came out, and Nunes' red card and three-match ban will be cancelled. Wolves coach Lopetegui said, "I will not wait for the referee to apologize for this matter, but I hope they can do their job."
