Wolves sign Spanish midfielder Sarabia from Paris Saint-Germain
2023-01-18 13:47Wolves have announced the £4.4million signing of Pablo Sarabia from Paris Saint-Germain .
The 30 -year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux ahead of Tuesday's FA Cup third-round clash with Liverpool.
Sarabia, 30 , captained the Spain Under- 19s under Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui .
They also spent a brief month at Sevilla before leaving to join Paris Saint-Germain in July 2019 . A deal to Wolves would see the 30 -year-old midfielder reconnect with his former youth manager Lopetegui.
Lopetegui guided Sarabia to the U19 European Championships in 2011 and appointed the midfielder as his captain.
The two met again in Seville in 2019 . They ended up spending a month together before Sarabia joined PSG. Sarabia has struggled to cement his place in the PSG starting line-up - making just 98 appearances since joining in 2019 .
However, he was outstanding on loan at Sporting Lisbon last year. He scored 21 goals in 45 appearances for Portugal .
Lopetegui wants Sarabia to strengthen his attacking line at Wolves
The Spain international has also been called up for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but it will be a tournament to remember.
He came on as a substitute in the round of 16 loss to Morocco but failed to find the net in the epic shootout.
As such, Lopetegui hopes Sarabia 's 11 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG will strengthen his attacking line at Wolves.
Sarabia will be Lopetegui's third signing during the January transfer window, having already signed Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina from Nice and Matthewscu on loan from Atletico Madrid. nia.
