Van Die unhappy with Pahang performance despite win
2023-03-18 15:48Fandi Ahmad led Pahang to a comprehensive 3-0 win over Perak, but the former Singapore international wasn't convinced by his side's sub-par second-half performance in Ipoh.
Pahang started the season well and are unbeaten in the Super League after five rounds.
As far as the score is concerned, they played well against Perak under the leadership of Datuk Lim Chang Kim.
Goals from leading forwards Kepa Sherman ( 13th minute), Brendo Stafano ( 37th minute) and Zuhair Aizat Nazri ( 74th minute ) helped Pahang stay Fourth place, nine points behind leaders Johor Darutak, Sabah and Selangor .
Van Die will hope Pahang can keep up their first-half 90 -minute performance for the rest of the game .
" We played the attacking football we wanted to play in the first half and scored early. However, I wasn't at all happy with our performance in the second half, we slowed down and let the thunderbolts fight back. " Fan Dee said.
" We played well in the first half of some games and in some games we played better in the second half.
" We haven't got consistency yet and we hope to get it in the next few games. "
Vandy didn't want to gloat about the team's undefeated record. This is the first time since 2019 that they have gone without a loss in their first five games.
" We didn't lose but we had more draws (three) and this win is very important before we rest for two weeks (international break), " added Van Die.
Pahang is ready for the
Pahang will also use the time to recuperate and prepare fully before their home game against fourth-placed Kedah on March 31 .
Meanwhile, Lim Chang-jin said the absence of defender Mohd Hafizal Mohd and midfielder Sunday Kolawole Afolabi and the red card of Nazrul Amri Kamarul Hazard ( 39th minute ) had a negative effect on the team . affected.
" Overall, I'm not happy with our performance on Thursday, but I have to admit that we lost against a team that was more skilled than us. Pahang was the stronger side," Changkin admitted .
" Playing with 10 men makes the game more difficult, but that's no excuse.
" For our next game against Penang ( March 31 ), the two players will be back. The break comes at a good time as it gives the players who have some injury issues time to recover . "
Perak will be looking to get back to winning ways with an away game against Penang.
