The public can see the FIBA Asia Cup 2023 Trophy Live, Secretary General of Perbasi: Basketball Campaign

JAKARTA -- Secretary General of PP Perbasi Nirmala Dewi revealed the mission of the Trophy Showcase which is currently being held in various locations in Jakarta. In addition to promoting the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup which will be held July 12-24 2022 at Istora Senayan Jakarta, this is also an event to invigorate basketball in the country.

The first woman who became Secretary General of PP Perbasi also participated in monitoring the event which was held from Tuesday (5/7/2022) to Saturday (9/7/2022). "I saw that at Monas, the enthusiasm of the people was extraordinary," he said in a short message to repulika.co.id, Wednesday (6/7/2022).

"This event is very good, not only for the 2022 Asia Cup event, but also very good for promoting basketball itself to the wider community," he added.

The trophy showcase or the display of the FIBAAsia Cup trophy on the second day was enthusiastically welcomed by Jakarta residents. The cloudy weather and it rained in the morning did not prevent a number of residents from taking pictures with the trophy designed by Radiant and made by Silversmith Thomas Lyte.

A number of residents who were active around the HI Roundabout seemed enthusiastic about taking pictures with the 55 cm high trophy. The FIBA Asia Cup trophy tour, which was first held ahead of the FIBA Asia Cup championship, attracted their interest.

This trophy showcase is also sufficient to provide information for Jakarta residents who don't really understand basketball and don't know that there will be a 2022 FIBA Asia Cup in Jakarta on 12-24 July.

The chairman of the organizing committee, Junas Miradiarsyah, previously stated that the Trophy Showcase was aimed at not only campaigning for the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup event on 12-24 July, but also to promote basketball more.

"This is one of our ways to inform the FIBA Asia Cup 2022 event. In addition, this is also an event to promote basketball more to the public," said Junas.
