Several media confirm that Diego Cocca is close to coaching the Mexico team


Diego Cocca , 50, is very close to coaching Mexico following his departure from Tigres UANL.


Tigres UANL announced on Thursday that it has terminated the contract early with the coach Diego Cocca who has been in office for more than a month. In an official statement, they confirmed Cocca's impending appointment as Mexico coach.


"We have decided to terminate our working relationship with Diego Cocca after learning of his decision to accept the appointment as coach of the Mexican national team," Tigres UANL said in a statement.


The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) is expected to confirm Cocca's appointment soon. He coached only 5 games in Tigres UANL and remained unbeaten.

Diego Cocca is from Argentina. As a player, he represented River Plate, Atlas, Banfield, and Argentinos Juniors in Argentina and Mexico.


Coaching Mexico this time is Cocca's first time as the coach of the national team.
