Official: Augsburg sign Yeboah and Cardona in striker position

Augsburg announced on Wednesday that it has brought in Kelvin Yeboah and Irvin Cardona as strikers.

Kelvin Yeboah

According to official sources, the 22-year-old Italian striker Kelvin Yeboah is on loan from Genoa, and the contract includes a buyout clause. Di Marzio revealed that Yeboah's buyout fee is 7 million euros, which will be decided by Augsburg in the coming season.

Kelvin Yeboah has played for WSG Tirol, SK Sturm Graz and Genoa. He has played 139 times in his career, scored 35 goals and sent 22 assists. Augsburg believes that Yeboah's qualities of "being able to serve as both a center forward and a wide position" may meet the team's offensive needs.

"Kelvin Yeboah is a young, agile, very quick attacker who once again expands our offensive options," said sporting director Stefan Reuter. "Especially with Graz, he showed that he has good qualities in transition and is a threat in terms of scoring."

"As such, he is a perfect fit for our team and our style of play," concluded Reuter.

Owen Cardona

On the day Yeboah signed, 25-year-old French center Irvin Cardona also came to Augsburg from Brest. His contract will end in June 2027, and his worth is around 500,000 euros.

Irvin Cardona came out of Monaco's youth training, and then played in Bruges and Brest. He can play any position in the frontcourt, played a total of 182 times, scored 58 goals, and sent 17 assists.

From Ligue 1 to Bundesliga, Cardona is full of expectations for a new start. He told the official media: "Augsburg Football Club provides me with great prospects to prove myself in Germany and the Bundesliga. I am looking forward to this challenge because I have no doubts in Augsburg's potential."

"Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world and I am very happy to play for Augsburg."
