Napoli may loan Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea

Napoli consider loan options after losing first-choice goalkeeper Davide Ospina

JAKARTA - Italian League club Napoli are reportedly considering the option of borrowing goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from English Premier League club Chelsea in the player transfer market this summer.

Quoted from Football Italia , Monday, Napoli are considering this option after losing their first-choice goalkeeper Davide Ospina last season to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. In addition, Alex Meret, who is now Napoli's number one goalkeeper, still can't get the trust of coach Luciano Spalletti even though the Italian player insists on staying in Naples.

Napoli's desire to borrow Kepa is believed to be welcomed by the Spaniard, especially at this time he can't get Chelsea's main goalkeeper position occupied by Edouard Mendy. Since the arrival of Mendy in the summer of 2020, Kepa is no longer the main goalkeeper at Chelsea and is only the second choice of coach Thomas Tuchel.

It is believed that currently Kepa is ambitious to play for the Spanish national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Napoli could be the place for him to get playing time during this season in order to secure a place in the La Furia Roja squad. Since the summer of 2020, Kepa has only made 29 appearances for Chelsea in various competitions and has been on the bench more often.

Currently Kepa is listed as the most expensive goalkeeper in the world after Chelsea redeemed him from Athletic Bilbao for 80 million euros or around Rp 1.2 trillion. While defending the Blues, the 27-year-old player recorded 123 appearances with a total of 10,965 minutes of playing.
