Luis Suarez Reaches Preliminary Agreement to Return to Uruguayan Club Nacional

MONTEVIDEO -- Former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez admits he has an initial agreement to rejoin boyhood club Nacional in Uruguay. The 35-year-old is now a free agent having left Atletico Madrid when his contract expired this summer.


Suarez's return to Nacional is expected to last until at least the start of the 2022 World Cup in November. In a video on social media, Suarez said details of the agreement would be finalized. He hopes the agreement will happen as desired by both parties.


The news of Suarez's return to Nacional has been eagerly awaited by fans. Around 20,000 Nacional fans wore Suarez masks in a recent match after his club was linked with El Pistolero, Suarez's nickname.
