Kepa willing to cut salary to leave Chelsea

Napoli can only afford to pay Kepa Arrizabalaga 3 million euros per season.

LONDON - Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is reportedly ready to accept a pay cut or cut with Italian club Napoli. He claimed to want to get regular playing time.

Napoli are indeed looking for a new goalkeeper to navigate the upcoming 2022/2023 campaign. Later the presence of a new portiere will be a competition for Alex Meret under the crossbar i Partenopei .

Keylor Navas is the initial choice of the southern Italian club. Moreover, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is said to be willing to release the goalkeeper from Costa Rica.

However, salary issues made it difficult for Vesuviani to land Keylor Navas at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Seeing this, Calciomercato was quoted by Football Italia , Saturday (30/7) claiming that Napoli had switched to Chelsea's goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Even the same source said the Spanish goalkeeper was ready to accept a pay cut in order to be able to lift his suitcase from West London, in order to play regularly in the Italian Serie A competition and the Champions League.

Kepa's current wages with the Blues are around 9 million euros per season. So, with Chelsea bearing half the salary during his season-long loan, Kepa still needs to make a pay cut.

Meanwhile, the Napoli camp is only willing to pay 3 million per season to the 27-year-old player. Other alternatives to the i Partenopei are Neto from Barcelona as well as Eintracht Frankfurt portiere Kevin Trapp.
