Isco reportedly rejected the offer to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Khaleej like his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo did..

Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano exclusively reported via his official Twitter account on Sunday that Spain international midfielder Isco has refused to emulate his former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo by also accepting Saudi Pro League club Al-Khaleej's offer and joining the club.

According to Romano, in order to improve his hopes of being selected for the Spain national team, Isco has no intention of leaving Europe, which naturally becomes all the possibilities for his switch to Al-Khaleej becoming impossible.

In addition, although there were many rumours that Liverpool are interested in signing Isco on a free transfer to solve the team's midfield problem, Romano said that he has never received any indication that the Reds are planning to sign the former Real Madrid star.

On the contrary, it is actually another Premier League club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, who has links with Isco.

Nevertheless, Romano also added that although the head coach Julen Lopetegui does have the intention of signing Isco, considering that the two's relationship turned sour when they were working together in Sevilla not long ago, therefore, Isco will wait to see if there are other opportunities arises before making a consideration of whether to join Wolverhampton Wanderers or not.

The 30-year-old Isco joined Sevilla on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expired last summer and reunited with Lopetegui.

However, after being publicly humiliated by Director of Football Monchi in front of the whole team in the locker room after a training session, Isco, who had completely fallen out with Sevilla, had his contract terminated by the club on December 21 last year.

It is worth mentioning that Isco and Cristinao Ronaldo played for Real Madrid together from 2013 to 2018. They are the key players of Los Blanco and have won many championships with the team, including 4 Champions Leagues, 3 FIFA Club World Cup, as well as 2 UEFA Super Cup championships, these were all important titles.

Like Isco, Ronaldo also fell out with Manchester United and had his contract terminated not long ago, subsequently, he signed a hefty contract with Al-Nassr as a free agent.

This season, Isco played 12 times for Sevilla in La Liga before leaving the club, without scoring any goals.

Al-Khaleej's form has been extremely poor this season. After 13 matchdays, they have only achieved 3 wins, 1 draw and 9 losses, and only achieved 10 points, languishing 14th in the relegation zone of the Saudi Pro League.
