Friendly: Dani Olmo leads Spain to a 2-1 win over Albania

Dani Olmo scores in stoppage time Spain vs Albania

JAKARTA -- Spain's Dani Olmo scored a stunning goal in stoppage time to give Spain a 2-1 win over Albania in a friendly Saturday local time in front of an excited crowd in Spain's first game in Catalonia in 18 years.

Under the roar of a near-crowded Cornella-El Prat Stadium, last year's Euro semi-finalists dominated from the start but had to wait until the 75th minute to open the scoring when Ferran Torres fired home from close range following substitute Yeremy's pass. But minutes later Myrto Uzuni equalized from Albania's only shot on target that bounced off Eric Garcia's face.

When the match seemed to be ending in a draw, Olmo got a short pass from Jordi Alba. He then curled a shot into the top corner of the Albanis goal from the edge of the box.

Spain next face Iceland in A Coruna next Tuesday as they prepare for this year's World Cup in Qatar to be played in November and December.

Score the first goal

Meanwhile in another friendly, Slovenia's Jaka Bijol scored his first international goal in stoppage time to cancel out Andrej Kramaric's first-half goal as Slovenia forced Croatia to a 1-1 draw in a friendly on Saturday local time.

Kramaric used Duje Caleta-Car's long pass to beat Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak in a one-on-one position to put Croatia ahead at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, which will host the World Cup next November.

Croatia were unable to capitalize on their dominance throughout the match and were instead punished with seconds remaining when Bijol's header bounced off the bar but crossed the line. The two teams are in the same group in the same World Cup qualifiers which were won by Croatia.

The 2018 World Cup runners-up in Russia have already secured an automatic place in this year's finals, while fourth-placed Slovenia failed to qualify for Qatar. Zlatko Dalic's Croatia will take on Bulgaria next Tuesday at the same venue, while Slovenia will face Qatar on the same day.
