France U20s international right wing-back Théo Le Bris extends contract with Lorient..




Lorient announced on the official website on Sunday that the club has extended the contract of France U20s international right wing-back Théo Le Bris.


According to Lorient's official statement, Le Bris, whose contract was originally scheduled to expire in the summer of 2026, has signed on a further year with the club, his new contract will now runs until the summer of 2027.


Le Bris, who is only 20 years old, is born in Rennes, France on October 1, 2002. He is 1.7 meters tall and primarily plays as a right wing-back, but he can also be deployed as a right winger or an attacking midfielder. His brother Benoît is Stade Rennais' former center forward, who has now retired, his father Régis is the current Lorient head coach.


Le Bris joined the Lorient youth academy since he was a child, and was later promoted to the first-team in the summer of 2021.


Le Bris completed his Lorient first-team debut by coming on as a substitute at the end of September 2021, but he did not officially establish himself as a key player of Lorient's first-team until last summer.


So far this season, Le Bris has played 21 times with the club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and assisting 1 time. With his outstanding performance, Le Bris once helped the club occupy the Champions League qualification spot of Ligue 1 at the beginning of the season. However, since the recommencement of the league following the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup, the club's performances has declined.
