Former Spain striker Llorente retires


Former Spain striker Fernando Llorente announced his retirement on Thursday at the age of 37 , ending an 18 -year career that saw him win the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 .


He played for clubs including Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Juventus, Tottenham and Napoli, winning three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia titles and a Europa League title.

' No, no. Now I know all about it. I still keep fit by playing padel , " Llorente , who has been without a club since his one-year contract with Elva expired last year, told Spanish television when asked if he would return to the court .

Llorente was part of Spain's squad that won the World Cup in 2010 . He played in one game, coming off the bench against Portugal in the round of 16 .  

He didn't play any minutes in 2012 , but was in the squad as Spain won the European title.  

Llorente played 35 games for Swansea in the 2016-17 season, scoring 15 goals.

He then joined Tottenham and played 66 times for Tottenham, scoring 13 goals.
