Bulls undrafted Lewis may miss fall training camp with knee injury

Justin Lewis, a two-way player signed by the Chicago Bulls a few weeks ago, suffered an accidental injury during team practice, possibly resulting in a torn cruciate ligament that will prevent him from participating in fall training camp, according to sources.

Lewis was an undrafted pick in this year's league draft, and the Bulls officially signed Lewis to a two-way contract in early July and let him play in the summer league in Las Vegas. Scouts and the league believe that the 20-year-old forward can occupy a place in the league lineup in the future with his size advantage and potential, as long as he is cultivated. Lewis also won the NCAA Big East Most Improved Player Award and was named to the First Team last season.

And he represented the Bulls in Summer League, averaging 7.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game in 22.5 minutes per game. However, Lewis recently suffered an accidental injury in training after the game, and the injury assessment may be diagnosed as a serious injury to the anterior cruciate ligament.

It is understood that in order not to affect the injury status of the next season, the Bulls chose to conceal the injury of the undrafted, leading the outside world to speculate on the severity of the injury of the recruit forward. Lewis may also be excluded from the Bulls' fall training camp roster. In addition, guard Lonzo Ball, who suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee last season and underwent left knee surgery in January this year, is still recovering and may not be able to fully recover before the start of fall training camp.
