Brazil U17s international winger wonderkid Estêvão puts Paris Saint-Germain transfer rumours to bed by completing contract extension with Palmeiras..
2023-04-25 16:10Palmeiras announced on the official website on Monday that the club has completed the renewal of contract with Brazi U17s international wonderkid winger Estevão.
According to Palmeiras' official statement, Estevão has signed on a new long-term three-and-a-half year deal with the club which will run until the winter of 2026.
After completing his contract renewal procedures, Estevão, who was interviewed by Palmeiras' official website again said: "Today is a very special day in my life. I would like to thank Palmeiras, my agents and my family, thank you for always being there for me."
"Palmeiras is a very big club that provides footballers with all the necessary structure and my main goal is to win a lot of titles for the club."
Regarding Estevão's contract renewal, Palmeiras chairman Leila Pereira said: "Estevão is a talented player with a huge potential, and he agrees with Palmeiras' project very much. We provides all the best conditions for his continued development and provides our fans with something that will bring them great joy."
"Palmeiras is a club that focuses on training players and values young players. We believe that more and more lads in the youth academy will become core team members supporting us moving forward in the next few years. "
Estevão, who is only 16 years old, was born in Franca, Brazil on April 25, 2007. He is nicknamed Messinho. He is 1.7 meters tall, primarily plays as a right winger, but he can also be deployed as a left winger or attacking midfielder. .
Estevão joined the Cruzeiro youth academy when he was 10 years old, and later moved to the Palmeiras youth academy in May 2021.
Estevão, who is extremely talented, as well as Endrick, who is about to move to Real Madrid when he comes of age, are known as the most anticipated wonderkids at Palmeiras, and even broke the record of Real Madrid wonderkid, his compatriot, Rodrygo, by becoming the youngest sponsored player in the history of the famous sports brand Nike.
Last season, Estevão helped the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A powerhouse's youth academy completes the quadruple in domestic U17s youth academy competitions, making him even more famous.
It is worth mentioning that Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, reported that Paris Saint-Germain submitted an offer of €35 million to Palmeiras in November last year to sign Estevão.
With this contract renewal, it means that all rumours linking Estevão joining the Ligue 1 defending champions will also temporarily come to an end.
