Atlético Madrid intensifies their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo

MADRID -- Atletico Madrid are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo. Los Rojiblancos made Antoine Griezmann a sacrifice to sell in this summer's transfer window in order to bring in Ronaldo. Atletico offer Griezman to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Earlier this week, there was speculation about Ronaldo's return to La Liga. Previously, Ronaldo had a successful eight-year spell with Real Madrid. Now by his agent, Ronaldo is offered to Atletico.

According to AS reports, reported by Livesoccertv, Sunday (24/7), Atletico, who previously ruled out signing Ronaldo, are now exploring ways to accommodate the Portugal captain. In order to be able to buy Ronaldo, Griezman is ready to be sacrificed but the situation is quite complex.

Atletico signed Griezman on loan last summer from Barcelona after his £107 million sale to Barcelona in 2019. Atletico have an obligation to buy for £34.4 million. But Atletico are expected to sign Griezmann in 2023 if conditions are met.

Atletico can still release Griezman but are still obliged to pay Barcelona according to the amount of money that must be paid.

As for Manchester United will soon find a solution for Ronaldo. According to The Guardian, United will seek clarity regarding when Ronaldo will join training.

Ronaldo was allowed not to join the United squad who were on a pre-season tour to resolve family problems in Portugal. He has yet to train with the team with the first Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion just two weeks away.
